In the works

Over the past week or so I have been working on this little guy. He was inspired by pissed off chiuahas and the thought of the crazy angry guy that everyone seems know. I have really been enjoying taking the little extra time to achieve the facial expression to convey the emotion I am after. Once this piece is all finished he will be fitted with a wooden peg leg on his front right leg.

I have always enjoyed watching how a persons work progresses from start to finish, so I have decided to document this guy throughout my process.

A Start

Here are some images of the early steps of my process on a piece of a starving dog.  Although I am extremely excited about making this piece it was very hard to stomach some of the images I had to dig through for references.  

Goliath

This fella here is a piece I have been working on over the past few weeks that when done will be shown with another dog playing tug a war. Building this guy has been quite a challenge for as it is much larger than anything I have ever built, he is approximately 3 feet long and 19 inches tall. Although the scale of this is much different for me I really enjoyed working larger.
