Finished!

Almost there

I have been working on this guy for the past couple weeks and he has finally had his last firing. The only thing I have left to do with him is a few final touches on his peg leg. When he is all finished his peg with be stained and sanded some more, giving it an aged and worn look.  Overall I am really happy with the way this fella turned out and have some good ideas going on how he will be displayed in the gallery.

In the works

Over the past week or so I have been working on this little guy. He was inspired by pissed off chiuahas and the thought of the crazy angry guy that everyone seems know. I have really been enjoying taking the little extra time to achieve the facial expression to convey the emotion I am after. Once this piece is all finished he will be fitted with a wooden peg leg on his front right leg.

I have always enjoyed watching how a persons work progresses from start to finish, so I have decided to document this guy throughout my process.

A Start

Here are some images of the early steps of my process on a piece of a starving dog.  Although I am extremely excited about making this piece it was very hard to stomach some of the images I had to dig through for references.
