Moving on to new things

Some wheels for the guy above, to be put on after firing.

So another semester has begun in my final year of graduate school. With the new year I have went of on a somewhat new direction with my work, beginning to think about animals in cloths.  While at Watershed this summer I made a piece about the ridiculousness of people dressing their animals up in cloths, and found this to be a fun concept to try and work with. I personally find it hilarious, absurd, and often extremely cute.

Watershed Part III

Still here at Watershed making some new work and exploring some things I have never tried.  So the theme here this session is all about drawing and clay. In order to try and embrace this I created some wine cups and decided to go a little nuts on them with painting different scenes and just random things.

Also made the journey to peter's pond, which is the most amazing place for a swim

Also took a journey to the botanical gardens, which is absolutely beautiful. At the gardens there was two ceramic shows put together by watershed showcasing some of the work of past residents.

Watershed Part II

I have still been at Watershed for the past couple of days. While here I have been getting a lot of work and having a wonderful time.
Hung out with the sheep some more. They are very funny creatures. They stop chewing their grass and  and stare at me every day on the way to the studio.

Also made friends with some lil cows.

Watershed

I have been at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts for the past few days working and hanging out.  Working here is a completely new experience and an amazing place to get things accomplished.

Been Awhile...

Its been a while since posted anything, so here is a piece that I have been working on throughout the summer. For the next few weeks I will be doing a kiln god residency at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.

Here is a piece that I had wrapped up at the beginning of the summer, and I am pretty happy with the way it turned.  This piece was also excepted into the MBK Graduate Student Show at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia along three other students from Edinboro University.

Work in progress

This is one of my latest pieces. When finished the recessed areas will have leather straps in them and to whole piece will be displayed on a leather pillow.
