Over the past few week I have been working through some new ideas and concepts within my work.

Some things I've been doing
It's been a while since I have put anything up here, so here are a few things that have been happening in my studio.
Here is a pig head that is almost completely finished. On this guy I used some different surface techniques and explored layering sigs, underglazes, and oxides.

Bing!
Been a while since I have posted anything, but I have still been keeping busy in the studio. Here is a bouncing/jumping guinea pig that I recently finished. By using an old car shock spring, I was able to make the guinea bobble and sway over the moon. This was a very fun piece to construct and I was pleasantly surprised when everything finally came together.

New Studio and a Finished Piece
I have finally settled into my new studio at Odyssey Clayworks. Since the move to Asheville, NC, I have been working on some new pieces and have managed to finish one of them. I have a new found fascination and love for making hairless guinea pigs because of all there wonderful folds and wrinkles. There is something so odd and creepy to me that some people choose to have these wrinkly little rodents as pets. I have really enjoyed exploring my ideas using hairless guinea pigs and there are more currently in the works that will be posted soon.

Almost Done
Been working on finishing up this piece since my move into my new studio at Odyssey Clay Works. The finish on the guinea pig is all done, but he is still waiting for his display/base/pedestal.

Hairless Guinea Pig
It has been a while since I last posted, so here is what I have been working on since my thesis. After my thesis I wanted to take the scale of my work down some so I picked a hairless guinea pig because of all the wonderful folds that occur on their bodies. With this piece I would like to experiment with the surface and try some different finishings. This little fella has yet to be surfaced and will have to wait wait until I move into my new studio at Odyssey Center for the Ceramic Arts in Asheville, NC as a resident artist.
